How does it work?
An elegant
home inspection report is published and posted
on the web. The web report includes color
photos and illustrations, and links to relevant reference
materials. A link to the report is delivered
by email, most often the same day.
Home inspection reports produced on the web are in PDF
format. They can be downloaded and
printed easily without a loss of quality. They can be stored on a hard
drive or removable media and we commit
as well, to keeping them available online for
at least 12 months. As always, the
inspection reports are your property - you can
choose to share reports with friends and family, real estate agents,
lenders, insurance companies and other interested parties.
The duplication and transmittal of
reports is effectively free, since the reports are available on a web
page, and the link to the web page is simply e-mailed to the recipient. |

How did it
work? The
report forms detailing the condition of the nine major systems of the
home, and any recommendations were inserted into the Home Reference
Book. Inspection items
were numerically correlated to the index at
the beginning of each section. Topical
information was obtained by consulting the Table of
Contents in the applicable section.
Each chapter
provided
basic
explanations of home construction,
plus illustrations of
various components
of the house, how they work and how
things wear out or fail.
The book was a valuable tool for
understanding and maintaining the home,
however times have changed!
Today, almost 80% of all Home Inspectors use an electronic reporting
system. Modern reporting systems such as
HORIZON are more flexible and offer greater use of photographs,
diagrams and house-specific information to create a customized,
easy-to-read report for our home-buying clientele.
